Richard Raleigh is a moderate politician that is a front-runner for mayor of New York City. He appeals to young people, and Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn, and Gwen Stacy jump on his campaign platform. Raleigh also wants to crack down on organized crime, including Spider-Man. This causes J. Jonah Jameson to fully endorse him in The Daily Bugle, but Robbie Robertson is skeptical as usual. After following his henchman the Smasher with his Spider tracer, Spider-man discovers Raleigh's true identity. In a rock slide caused by the battle between the Smasher and Spider-Man, Raleigh is killed, and Jameson writes an editorial blaming it on Jameson. Spider-Man decides not to expose him as the Disruptor to make him a "martyr,"
