Minkley had tutored his employer Fazil in necromancy. However he warned him on how mistakes in pronunciation and mistranslations of ancient texts may adversely effect the use of spells. It was exactly this that killer Fazil when he resurrected Rakses.
Minkley fled for his life. He survived the final death of Rakses, only to be scolded by Elsa Bloodstone. She let him free with a warning.
