Dreadshadow worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. before it fell. His daughter was killed by a mercenary named Enforcer. Years prior, Enforcer had fought Spider-Man and Wolverine. Spider-Man stopped Wolverine from killing him. The duo had him arrested instead. When he got out of prison, Enforcer returned to his violent ways, including killing Dreadshadow's daughter. When SHIELD fell, Dreadshadow got his hands on the Janus Directory, a hard drive of every double agent and their missions. It had proof that Spider-Man's parents were CIA agents with a history with Logan. He would plan to use that to manipulate the two heroes into killing each other.
