Dylan Brock is the son of Eddie Brock (Venom) and Anne Weying (She-Venom). When Anne bonded with Venom the Symbiote Hive Mind triggered her pregnancy with the intent of having the ensuing human-symbiote hybrid destroy their god, Knull. Traumatized by what she had done as She-Venom, Anne gave Dylan up to his grandfather Carl Brock then committed suicide.
Carl raised him as his son never informing him about his parents. He was shocked to learn he had an "elder brother" named Eddie attempting to reconcile with the family. Carl raised Dylan with more care than he did with Eddie however he is still verbally and physically abusive which prompted Dylan to runaway with Eddie.

Powers and Abilities
Dylan biology as a human/symbiote grants him similar powers to the symbiote god Knull although to a lesser degree. According to Mister Fantastic Dylan's powers derive not from Knull but his opposite, the God of Light - The Enigma Force.
- Symbiote Domination: Similar to a King in Black Dylan is capable of manipulating symbiotes in various ways such as remote-piloting, manipulating their biomasses, resist bonding, force them to die etc.
- Symbiote Evolution: Whenever a symbiote bonds with Dylan he kickstarts an evolutionary sequence within them.
- Sword Manifestation: Dylan while as Codex can summon a version of All-Black The Necrosword. Though he can only uses it for a limited time as his half human body is unable to handle the All Black's power.
- Chain Breaking: As Codex, Dylan uses the Necrosword to serve symbiotes from the Hive Mind.
