Edward Ferbel

Edward Ferbel

Edward Ferbel was a former stuntman who became a West Coast hero and the second man to assume the Nomad identity. He was a glory-hound and spent most his time playing to the cameras claiming responsibility for heroic successes of Captain America despite often botching the Captain's attempts at crime-fighting.

Ferbel was persuaded to assume the Nomad identity by the Red Skull; who was hoping to lure Captain America to the West Coast as well as besmirch his identity.  Ferbel gullibly agreed and established himself by victory over, unbeknownst to him, staged fights on camera and began to believe himself as an actual hero.

Captain America soon arrived to see who had taken up his former identity and the two clashed, the new Nomad's attention-hungry attitude often conflicting with Captain America's desire to avoid casualties at all costs. Ferbel used this to his advantage convincing people Captain America didn't care about him and claiming that he himself was responsible for the duos success.

After annoying Captain America for a while, and forcing himself to accompany him on missions, he was gunned down and killed by the Ameridroid, and Captain America was blamed for failing to act in time to save Ferbel's life.
