Father Philip was the leader of the Children of Heaven, a cult of young impressionable mutants. He abused his position as the cult's leader to involve his wards in pornography and drugs.
Archangel, following a lead, revealed what was happening and shut the operation down. One of Father Phillip's most abused wards, Beth took Father Phillip down with a psychic bolt in revenge. He was then arrested by the police.
