Gowar appears in the six part serialized tale "Island of Pirates Doom" which ran in Savage Sword of Conan issues 73, 74, 76-79.
He is a pirate captain who has travelled to an unknown island along with Valeria of the Red Brotherhood. Valeria herself describes Gowar as being "fierce and crafty" and "one of the two men I have ever feared". The other man she has feared bing the Cimmerian called Conan of course.
