Granny Smite had a rare mutant ability that made her immortal. She did not even suspect she was a mutant until a year before joining X-Factor at the age of 87. She managed to survive her house being burned down, but she unfortunately lost her husband of 58 years. She then took a discount flight to Florida with her son and his family. She was the only one to walk away from it when it crashed.
