Grey King is a super-intelligent specialized telepath who can neutralize a mutant's powers by locking specific sections of their brains. He is also a telekinetic who can move, lift, and manipulate very large objects with his thoughts. When he employs his telekinesis he manifests a psionic firebird similar to the Phoenix Force. Grey King also wore a Phoenix-like costume and had red hair.
As a synthetic creation of Cerebro, Grey Kingwas a combination of mutants Black King (Sebastian Shaw) and Phoenix (Jean Grey).
