Guru Strange is a deranged clone of Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme, created by The Jackal thanks to a DNA sample provided by a mysterious benefactor.

Creation

Guru Strange was introduced in New Avengers (2025) #1 by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima.

Major Story Arcs

Killuminati

Bucky Barnes and Black Widow put together a New Avengers task force to investigate a secret lab in Russia surrounded by missing persons reports. To protect himself, The Jackal released his clones of the Illuminati, including Guru Strange. Guru kept his distance and used his spellcasting to disarm the New Avengers.

While Iron Apex and Bolt were killed by the New Avengers, Guru Strange made his escape by teleporting himself and Professor X-Tinction to Japan. Luckily, Clea could easily track him since his power signature was so similar to her husband's. When the New Avengers caught up with them, Guru Strange teleported yet again, this time leaving X-Tinction behind.
