Origin

Hargen the Measurer is a member of the Celestials, enormously large cosmic space gods, who mysteriously go about particular duties for mysterious unknown reasons. Hargen the Measurer appears as an orange and green hued armored artificial shell, measuring upwards of 2000 feet. His supposed purpose is to measure. During the Fourth Host, marking the fourth visit by Celestials to Earth, Hargen the Measurer measured the Swiss Alps. Hargan the Measurer was also present alongside Tefral the Surveyor, Nezarr the Calculator, Gammenon the Gatherer, Arishem the Judge, Jemiah the Analyzer, Eson the Searcher, Oneg the Prober and Ziran the Tester as the Fourth Host when confronted by Odin inhabiting the Destroyer armor with with the additional life forces of all Asgardians barring Thor, and an Eternals Uni-Mind. The Uni-Mind and the Destroyer failed at stopping the Celestials. Gaea and several goddesses from various were more successful offering the Celestials the Young Gods, for which they accepted and subsequently departed Earth.

Creation

Hargen the Measurer is a Marvel comics book character created by Jack Kirby first appearing in The Eternals #9 released in 1977. The Celestials as a concept bare some resemblance to the real life author Erich von Däniken projections of giant space gods who have influenced and directed humanity, and whose influence and handiwork can be revealed in ancient carvings, symbols and monuments, particularly in South America.

Character Evolution

A member of the Celestials created by Jack Kirby, Hargen was a large part of the Eternals mythology which for the most part was kept separate from the rest of the greater Marvel Universe. During the Thor Eternals Saga Hargen and his fellow Celestials would be integrated further into the main Marvel Universe, eventually these massive space god characters being written to be involved with the beginnings and creation of several fictional Marvel species and races.

Powers and Abilities

Hargen the Measurer like many of the Celestials is an extremely powerful god like being, possessing incalculable levels of strength, durability, speed and energy projection. Enormous in stature, up to 2000 feet in height, he possesses the ability to manipulate reality control energy and rearrange matter. They can teleport themselves or vast objects across vast distances. Although near invulnerable, in the rare case of being injured or harmed, the Measurer will regenerate near instantaneously. Capable of withstanding earth shattering blows, and easily dismiss nuclear bombs, the Hargen the Measurer also possesses the ability to generate energy blasts that are of an earth shattering level and higher. There is an unknown connection between the Celestials and Hyperspace. It is possible that Hyperspace is the origin of the Celestials vast powers. Hargen the Measurer is the measurer of the Celestials.
