Origin

Hellrune believed she was an orphan who was visited by a flock of ravens on her 13th birthday. They gave her powers and her new name. However, this was a false memory implanted by Hydra, which had trained and experimented on Hellrune to turn her into a beloved superhero (resembling a sidekick of Thor) to represent a Hydra new world order. As a member of The Assembly, she would have a run in with Spider-Woman, who helped reveal the truth to her and her teammates.
Creation
Hellrune debuts canonically in Web of Spider-Man (2024) one shot in a short story by Steve Foxe and Ig Guara as a tease for their Spider-Woman series. She originally appeared on a variant cover for Immortal Thor in October 2023 drawn by Toni Infante. This cover was part of the "New Champions" variants depicting original sidekicks for Marvel's title characters.
Major Story Arcs
New Champions
After she was saved from Hydra, she was returned to a new foster family and assembled with her former Assembly teammates as the "New Champions." When Hellrune got in over her head looking for her long lost family, she casted a spell to teleport her team to her location, however, the spell teleported additional teen heroes who also look like sidekicks but aren't.
While everyone else was fighting, she was drawn away by a voice belonging to her sorceress aunt. She was freed form her prison by Hellrune and then helped Runie tap into her magic potential ending the viking zombie horde. In the aftermath, Liberty extends membership to all the teens that were teleported there, but only a few accepted communicators for future meet ups, including Hellrune who thought she needed to stay with her newfound relative.
