The Hyena was a Human Torch villain in 1940s stories. He was revived in the "Invaders" series. According to it the Hyena may have started his career with petty crime but eventually found mercenary work to be more lucrative. He sold his services to the Axis. He was assigned by Adolf Hitler to claim a blood sample from the Torch. Having learned how this blood had transformed Jacqueline Falsworth to Spitfire, Hitler believed it could turn other normal humans to super-powered individuals. The Hyena did manage to get his sample but lost it in a subsequent battle with the Torch.
