Iron Apex is a deranged clone of Iron Man, created by The Jackal thanks to a DNA sample provided by a mysterious benefactor.
Creation
Iron Apex was introduced in New Avengers (2025) #1 by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima.
Major Story Arcs
Killuminati
Bucky Barnes and Black Widow put together a New Avengers task force to investigate a secret lab in Russia surrounded by missing persons reports. To protect himself, The Jackal released his clones of the Illuminati, including Iron Apex. Apex's first move was to separate Wolverine from the rest of the team, blasting the meat off her arm. While many of the other clones made their escape, Apex was killed when Namor tackled him into the ocean and drowned him.
Unfortunately, his armor had a resuscitation function. While Bucky's New Avengers were chasing after the other Killuminati, Iron Apex came back online.
