History

Jovius was a record keeper on Krakoa, alongside Bruin. He sacrificed himself while defending those records, which included the identity of every living mutant, from Orchis. Orchis had invaded the nation as it fell, intending to kill mutants but also gather intelligence on other mutants, along with other valuable data.

It was later revealed at the end of X-Factor #6 that Jovius was still alive and within the custody of the military and those who controlled X-Factor.

Powers & Abilities

Jovius is a heteromorphic mutant with blue skin and pointed ears. He also wore an eye patch and a scar beneath, indicating that he was likely missing his right eye. It was stated that he had a dead man's switch attached to his life to destroy the records he guarded and protect mutantkind. This was most likely some form of implant, though whether it was a genetic implant or cybernetic is not indicated. Given that the entire nation of Krakoa was alive, it is also possible that Jovius' mutant abilities played a factor in the fail safe.
