Dr. Julius Akerman is better known as the Monster Master and has the ability to control monsters with his mind. Dr. Akerman and his bodyguard Kemp end up capturing the Thing. The Thing is held captive along with Gregor Lupus and the Frankenstein Monster. Ben Grimm manages to escape the wagon and grab Dr. Akerman. He uses his telepathic abilities to transform Gregor into his werewolf form and commands him to attack. Ben Grimm transforms into the Thing and a fight ensues. During the fight, the Frankenstein Monster escapes his shackles and ends up killing Dr. Julius Akerman.
