Major Story Arc
Debt to Spider-Man
While on the job as an enforcer for Tombstone, Kareem got caught in a burning car. Spider-Man rescued him, earning a level of loyalty from Tombstone's goon.
Later when he was partnered with White Rabbit, he refused to act against Spider-Man when they were caught. White Rabbit decided to send Spider-Man into a trap by pretending to betray Tombstone.
When she confessed that to Kareem, Kareem headed to the meet and saved Spidey from the hit squad and informed Spidey that Robbie Robertson might be another target. That seemed to clear the debt in Kareem's mind.
Gang War
When Hammerhead started a gang war to give the Maggia an opportunity to take back New York, Kareem was still partnered with White Rabbit. This allowed him to be added to the Syndicate, which had been defending Tombstone's territory while he was in the hospital.
This put them in the sights of Madame Masque, who has been secretly orchestrating the entire gang war so she would be the last gang leader standing. Kareem accompanied Beetle and all her backup to Central Park where they would fight Masque's full army over the rest of the city. However, Tombstone usurped his own daughter as the head of the Syndicate and the Harlem gangs.
He ordered a full retreat leaving the Masque's new Maggia and the heroes to deal with each other. With Spider-Man's crew proving victorious and the vigilante law repealed, Tombstone now ran the only criminal enterprise in the city.
Blood Hunt
When Varnae successfully possessed Blade and tried to take over the world for vampires, Kareem was at the mercy of vampires in New York. His longtime partner, White Rabbit, was turned. She was turned by the manager of a bodega who they run down for protection money. She baited Kareem into a trap and had him bitten too.
Before he completely turned, Kareem called Peter Parker, whose number Tombstone has just in case he needs to reach Spider-Man, and asked for Spider-Man's help saving White Rabbit. He kept secret that he was bit. Kareem took on Rabbit, locking her in a room, while Spider-Man finds the sire. Unfortunately, the bodega manager already locked himself up to save people and only attacked Rabbit because he was sick of paying protection.
Spider-Man hesitated, but Kareem snuck behind them and staked the vampire. Spider was angry that he attacked the regretful vamp, but Kareem showed his healing bite mark, revealing his true motivation.
