Daughter of Eitri, the master Forger and king of the dwarves, Kindra is an honest and caring young dwarf girl. When the New Mutants first visited Asgard, Kindra nursed Cannonball back to health. She quickly developed a crush on the handsome and tall mortal boy.
Kindra has been a bargaining tool for Hela on a later occasion. In a similar manner to when Loki blackmailed Eitri into forging a powerful hammer that gave Storm powers over the weather (see Giant-Sized Uncanny X-Men Annual #9) in exchange for Cannonball's life, Hela threatened to kill Kindra and the other captive New Mutants if Eitri didn't create an Uru sword that was capable of killing Odin.
