Krista Marwan made her first appearance in Death Metal vs. Genetix #2, January 1994. Genetix attempted to stop Death Metal's plan to impregnate Krista Marwan by injecting her with genetic material through the skin directly into her reproductive tract, but they failed.
Despite the way in which she was impregnated, Krista Marwan plans on raising the child. Death Metal had planned on lobotomizing Krista so that she'd go along with his plan no matter what, but when Krista used her empathic abilities to show Death Metal that she planned on keeping the new life growing inside of her.
Krista further showed him that she wanted to raise the child to help Death Metal, not destroy him as he had planned for the child.
