The Wender brothers were taken in by the Defense Department since an early age and have gradually helped them build up their ability. One of the two brothers are usually sent on Special Ops missions to unfriendly countries and used to siphon off nuclear or other dangerous energies.

The Wender brothers were created by Jeff Parker. Lars first appeared in Dark Avengers #180.
