Lazarus enlisted Cable to help him film a documentary about his life as a mutant. He requested that Cable blasted him apart so that he could capture his regeneration on camera. However, he was attacked by Jackie Singapore and his men who repeatedly shot him and he fell backwards into a helicopter's blades and lost half his head.
