Luke was the boyfriend of a fellow mutant, Nezumi, during the Age of X-Man. Luke and Nezumi's home was raided by Department X (otherwise known as the X-Tremists) for engaging each other in love (which had been ruled illegal)
Luke and Nezumi were arrested by Department X, with Luke being frozen by Iceman in a huge block of ice, whilst Nezumi and their unborn baby were forcibly taken back to Department X's headquarters.
