Origin

Luke Charles is a deranged clone of Black Panther, created by The Jackal thanks to a DNA sample provided by a mysterious benefactor.

Creation

Luke Charles was introduced in New Avengers (2025) #1 by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima. His name is a reference to an alias T'Challa used when he was enrolled in Western universities.

Major Story Arcs

Killuminati

Bucky Barnes and Black Widow put together a New Avengers task force to investigate a secret lab in Russia surrounded by missing persons reports. To protect himself, The Jackal released his clones of the Illuminati, including Luke Charles.

Rather than fight alongside his fellow clones, Luke made a break for it as soon as he had his chance. The others decided they were stronger together, but Luke wasn't going to miss his chance for freedom.
