Origin

Lycana was the product of The Eldest defiling the corpse of a shape-shifting Norse god named Agmundr, whom The Eldest had lured to his death. Lycana was born in the image of a large winged wolf, similar to Agmundr's shape-shifting form. However, Lycana could take on the form of any creature she killed and consumed.

Creation

Lycana was first mentioned in Incredible Hulk (2023) #18, but doesn't make a physical appearance until #19 by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein.

Major Story Arcs

The Godskin

As tales of her prowess spread, the Asgardians took notice and recognized her mane as that of Agmundr. Believing her birth could be nothing but a desecration of Agmundr, the Norse sent Thor to destroy Lycana. After a battle among storm clouds, Lycana was finally struck down by Mjolnir, over the desert that would eventually become Nevada.

Local cave-dwellers found her body. They had been chased out of their native land by a stronger tribe and saw the body as a gift. They feed on her flesh, burned her entrails to stay warm, and turned her skin into a pelt to be worshipped. They prayed to her in thanks and were rewarded with shape-shifting abilities, becoming the first skinwalkers. They continued to worship Lycana by ritually draping the pelt (known as The Godskin) on a chosen one, allowing them to be Lycana's vessel for a single cycle of the moon and sacrificed after one month.

Powers & Abilities

Beastly: In her natural form, Lycana is a large mammal with claws and fangs, as well as heightened senses used for tracking prey. Her strength and speed are also increased

• Flight: Lycana has a pair of wings and is capable of flight

Skinwalker: As the first skinwalker, Lycana is able to take the form of any creature she hunts and consumes, including humans.
