Origin

Ethan Neubacher was a violent burnout from a number of magical academies. He was chosen by Cyttorak as a possible candidate to be The Juggernaut. Unfortunately, a gem of Cyttorak was lost to time but was possibly in the possession of the family of an earlier Juggernaut, Jin Taiko. Malphegor was sent after the son of Jin Taiko. He had been on the run, keeping the forces of Cyttorak away from his wife and kid. Malphegor's first act as a disciple of Cyttorak was to kill Justin's dad for the gem, but he did not have it.

Kid Juggernaut

After coming up short with Jin Taiko's son, Cyttorak sent Malphegor after Jin Taiko's grandson, Justin. He tracked him down to Vancouver, but Justin had already been exposed to the power of the gem and become a Juggernaut. This caused Cyttorak to abandon his interest in Ethan and focus on Justin.

One World Under Doom

After being abandoned by Cyttorak, Malphegor fell in with a Hydra cell, lead by Sin. While Doctor Doom was busy taking over the world as the new sorcerer supreme, his Hydra cell used the confusion as cover to round up undesirables and seditionists. He was especially useful in capturing Jara Rivensky, an Asgardian who worked near Avengers Academy.

Because they had kidnapped so many friends of the Avengers Academy cadets, the students tracked them down and freed all their captives. Justin raged when he saw Malphegor and punched him off the Hydra train they were using to transport the prisoners. He also broke Malphegor's staff, so he needed to use a parachute to get to safety.

Since the cadets now had a human Blackheart in their midst, they got the attention of Doctor Doom, who did not take kindly to Mephisto's brood in his realm. When he arrived, he turned his attention to Hydra and Sin, sparing Malphegor who was no longer in the vicinity.

Powers, Abilities, & Weapons

Cytorrak Staff: Malphegor had a magic staff given to him by Cytorrak, which was capable of mimicking some of the power of Cyttorak, in particular the Crimson Bands. It also allowed him to levitate.
