Fazil was an Arab determined to use necromancy to drive Westerners out of the Middle East. He was killed by Rakses, who did not take kindly to Fazil's attempt to control him.

First issue:
Fazil had his employee, Dr. Minkley resurrect an entire army of mummies. Outfitting them with modern military uniforms and weaponry. However he made a mistake in resurrecting Rakses. Unlike the other mummies, the Pharaoh had kept his memory and personality.
Fazil's spell to place the Pharaoh under his control used the name "Rapses". Rakses educated them to what was his actual name, before using a machine gun to shoot down Fazil.
