Matvey was a young Russian mutant who lived near the Caspian Sea. He was experimented on with a mutagenic virus, but it was noticed that he was immune to its effects. The secret agency behind the trials commissioned Crossbones to capture him for further experimentation but Crossbones instead killed him to prevent any further abuse.
