Origin

Mei Igarashi grew up in an abusive household, where her and her mother were victims of her father's anger. Mei for years was silent to the abuse, but after the day where her mutant gene activated, she no longer feared to stand up to her dad, only for her and her mom to be kicked out of their home. Her mutant power changed her hair to white, and gives her the power to control elements of wind and lightning.

Creation

Maystorm was created for the new Ultimate Marvel universe, appearing as a major character in Ultimate X-Men, being a windbender and best friend of Armor's. She doesn't have a Earth-616 counterpart.

Maystorm is a recycled canceled character who was intended to appear in mainstream X-Men comics, as a Storm protegee.

Character History

Mei met Hisako at high school after she had been haunted by Shadow King, Mei helped Hisako in facing her demon only to become a target herself. She worked with a team of young mutants to face the demonic force, finally feeling safe among others and having a real family, after years of abuse.
