Dr. Lundquist was one of Albert Einstein's star pupils and one of the world's foremost advanced theoretical mathematicians. He was responsible for the SOLAM creature that almost destroyed The Cape.

Norman Lundquist was the head of the Solar Amplification (SOLAM) project at The Cape. SOLAM is a giant energy gun that shoots solar rays by harnessing the powers of the sun by using orbiting reflectors in space. Unfortunately for Lundquist, a power surge caused the gun to overload and the stored energy converted into a photo-kinetic living mass. Luckily Captain Marvel was on hand to save the day, by using his prior knowledge of SOLAM creatures and mathematic formulae advanced years beyond human knowledge.
