Origin

A lawyer and Civil War veteran living with his blind father. He promised his father that he would never take-up a gun again, but he wanted to right the wrongs in a near-lawless frontier so he donned a mask. Which caused him to experience a split personality, one for justice and one to obey his fathers wishes.

Creation

Outlaw Kid was created by Doug Wildey and first appeared in The Outlaw Kid Vol.1 issue 1 (1954). He had his origin as a reboot version of the earlier Western hero Texas Kid, but he quickly became his own character.

Major Story Arcs

Blaze of Glory

Finally getting courage Lance revealed his secret identity to his father. This shock caused his father's death. This furthered his split personality as he started to wander the west. Lance would join other western heroes to help save the town of Wonderment from a band called Nightriders. He would make his end during the last stand-off. This was in the Blaze of Glory story arc.
