Comeback

Dr. Dopson was working for Tombstone enhancing a number of his third-rate masked criminals. When Overdrive had a meeting with Dopson, Boomerang accompanied him just to check the place out. He didn't trust it and decided to stay in the waiting room while Overdrive got his upgrade. Just then, the Aberrant Crimes Division busted in, throwing Boomer against a set of shelves. Passenger's jar fell over and broke, freeing him. He immediately bonded to Boomer and used him to escape Dopson's clinic.

When Boomer finally gained consciousness, The Passenger offered to partner with Boomer. Between his connection to the symbiote hive-mind, he witnessed a number of his brothers going on adventures and felt envy. From his bond with Boomerang, he could tell Boomer had bigger ambitions. Taking the appearance of Earth-8294 Venom, which reminded Passenger of Boomer's hero, Spider-Man, they busted their buddy Overdrive out of ABD's jail, announcing themselves as Comeback.

The New King in Black

After the defeat of Knull and Hela by Venom and the heroes of Earth, Sleeper took the throne as the new King in Black. He intended to use his new title to evolve symbiotes to the point they no longer need hosts, just like himself. Passenger felt the pull back to Klyntar but had a difficult time leaving Boomer. Unfortunately, Passengar started to lose his connection to the hivemind and was attacked by a lab grown symbiote, calling itself Tantrum, who had disguised itself as Boomer's girlfriend. With his new condo destroyed, Boomer agrees to take Passenger to space.
