Origin

Princess started as a piece of Carnage collected by The Harrower when Carnage was being influenced by Knull. She kidnapped Deadpool to use him as an organic incubator, believing his highly advanced healing factor would be able to regrow a clone of the Carnage symbiote for herself. She did not expect the symbiote to imprint on Deadpool like a child. Once this new Carnage symbiote was birthed, she became equal parts beloved child and loyal pet.

Creation

Princess first appears as a simple piece of Carnage symbiote in Deadpool (2023) #3. Deadpool, at first, jokingly named her Renesmee, after the creepy baby from the Twilight movies but eventually settled on a typical pet name, Princess.

Major Story Arc

Against The Atelier

When Deadpool was kidnapped and implanted with Princess, he was auditioning for a secret society of superhuman assassins called The Atelier, competing for membership with Lady Deathstrike. One member, Valentine Vuong (they/them), who had a crush on Deadpool, helped him deal with Princess while she was incubating with a symbiote inhibitor serum.

When the rest of The Atelier find out about Valentine’s relationship with Deadpool, they brand Val as “compromised.” The head of The Atelier, The Horned Emperor, assigns all members to take the two of them out. The assassins attacked in pairs, but the first few proved ineffective. Deadpool and Valentine luckily had backup from Princess and Deathstrike. This only managed to get Princess on The Horned Emperor’s radar, who now demanded that his fellow assassins kidnap the dog in addition to killing their targets. Alcaudón and Ms. Gingko were finally able to best the two lovers and their dog.

Once taken prisoner, Wade put together that Valentine had set up his audition for the group from the beginning. Val needed his help to take out the immortal Horned Emperor and free them of The Atelier organization for good. Valentine didn’t expect to also fall in love with Wade as well. They plan another prison break where Wade is able to help Valentine strike the killing blow on The Horned Emperor, turning Val into the new Horned Emperor. Val was immediately overwhelmed by the voices they inherited from her former boss, but Wade’s feelings for Val anchored them, clearing their head. With The Atelier gone, Wade, Val, and Princess become a new happy family.

Venom War

When New York City is overrun with zombiotes, mindless symbiotes that multiply and spread like an infection, Princess hits the streets with Deadpool as one of his symbiote experts. The other was Andi Benton, host to the Silence symbiote. They were easily overwhelmed and took refuge in the underground city, Monster Metropolis. Deadpool knew they had a secret anti-symbiote weapon, Jimmy Hudson, who was still infected as a poison.

Deadpool convinced the rest of the monsters that their home would never be safe unless the surface city was also saved. Deadpool and Princess led the Legion of Monsters on to the street to help save the day. Unfortunately, Jimmy Hudson gave in to the rage of his poison infection and lashed out at the symbiotes he was allied with. Princess was fatally wounded and needed to bond to Deadpool like a typical symbiote to heal. In his new stronger form, they whipped some sense into Jimmy. Together, they wiped out a whole wave of zombiotes that bought them enough time to get survivors to safety.

Unfortunately, they also got the attention of the TVA, who had tipped Deadpool off to Jimmy's location. As a variant in the wrong universe, the TVA needed to take Jimmy into custody, which he did so quietly. Princess Deadpool and the monsters continued to fight off incoming waves of zombiotes, until the crisis was finally over and Princess was healed enough to live on her own again

Powers and Abilities

Symbiote Anatomy: Princess has much of the same anatomical abilities as other symbiotes, including the ability to bond with a host, although, she has evolved the ability to live without one.

• Shapeshifting: Princess has some level of shape-shifting. She originally looked like a mini Carnage but typically appears as a giant dog, with
• Prehensile Tendrils: She can extend parts of her body as prehensile tendrils
• Healing: Princess can heal like most symbiotes, by bonding to a host and living off of them.

Human Anatomy: In addition to her symbiote anatomy, she has a skeletal system, a circulatory system, and presumably the other organ systems, unlike other symbiotes.
