Origin

Rapunzel is a deranged clone of Medusa, created by The Jackal thanks to a DNA sample provided by Baron Zemo. She was part of a larger agenda set up before Zemo's death to resurrect him should he ever die, which happened during Doom's reign as World Emperor.

Creation

Rapunzel first appeared in New Avengers (2025) #5 by Sam Humphries and Ton Lima.

Major Story Arcs

Killuminati

Rapunzel was awoken up from clone stasis tube Jackal's African lab by Iron Apex. He invited Rapunzel to band together with the other Illuminati clones in order to take on a New Avengers task force that was hunting them down.

Iron Apex led the Killuminati to a lab in Hungary so they can put the finishing touches on Baron Zemo's cloning. The New Avengers tracked them to it and confronted them. Carnage entered Rapunzel through her mouth, nose and eyes, crushing her insides.
