Red Peril
A British left-wing journalist who was chosen by the Incinerator ring to save the Earth from Tony Stark. When she lost her hands and was unable to be the carrier of the ring, Tony Stark made her a hands-free iron suit with flame capabilities so she could remain the "Red Peril".

Abigail Beryl Burns is a British columnist whose columns advocate the end of neo-liberal policies, ending capitalism and a series of other highly controversial political subjects. She was approached by the Mandarin's flame blast ring and deemed worthy of wielding it. The ring's goal for her: "Save the Earth from Tony Stark."
Creation
Red Peril was created by Iron Man writer Kieron Gillen and penciller Joe Bennett. Her character is based on Laurie Penny, a British journalist with similar political views.
