In Inferno, Rick is assigned to cover the demonic plague that strikes New York City with Trish Tilby. The two are swallowed up by a demon subway car. It is unknown whether he survives the ordeal (though, regarldess of what actually happens to Rick, Trish doesn't seem too distraught).
