Ricochet was a politician who aligned himself with Mr. Sinister and attempted to discredit X-Factor. He also took them on physically, using his powers at one point to warp Quicksilver's so that he started rapidly aging.
Mr. Sinister however turned on him and Ricochet sought revenge by shooting him in the back. The bullet however bounced off him and ironically ricocheted back at him, killing him.

Ricochet's powers involve probability swinging wildly in his favor, which can affect the mutant powers of others and serve as a very limited form of mind control.
