Robert was a mutant who survived the extermination of Genosha by the sentinels. He had a wife named Josette who cheated on him every chance she could get. He followed Josette back to Xavier Institute, where he confronted and attacked iceman, who Josette was trying to seduce at that time. Later he was ripped in half by north star but then taken to a stasis tube to recover.
