When Malekith is freed from his prison and targets the nine realms, the Congress of Worlds refuse to allow Thor to lead only Asgardians against him. Instead, they call for the creation of the League of Realms, made up of soldiers from every realm, including Screwbeard, who represented Nidavellir.

Their first mission was to save Queen Alflyse of the Dark Elves who took sanctuary in Nidavellir. Unfortunately, they were too late. Malekith and his army had already slain the Queen and her men and escaped. The League gave chase across the realms, always a step behind. After losing their giant member, the League fake executing one of their members as a traitor, leading to the breakup of the League.

This successfully lulled Malekith into a false sense of security. When he made his move on Thor, Screwbeard and the others revealed their ruse and came to Thor's rescue. Unfortunately, in the chaos, Screwbeard lost his hand. They successfully apprehended him; however, the Dark Elf tribe chose him as their king rather than let the Congress of Worlds imprison him again.

Unworthy Thor

Thor was manipulated into losing Mjolnir by being convinced he was unworthy. He went headstrong into battle anyway without and lost his arm. Screwbeard forged him a new armored arm made from black uru.

The League of Realms Rides Again

In his bid to start the War of the Realms, Malekith kidnapped the queen of Alfheim and forced her to become his wife. In response, Ivory Honeyshot called together the League of Realms to reunite, including Screwbeard. Without the support of the Congress of Worlds, they were forced to keep their mission to liberate the queen a secret.

Unfortunately, it was a trap. The queen had been moved, and Malekith sent his new Kurse after them, revealed to be their former teammate, Lady Warizia, with an army of dark elves. They also found the explosives Malekith rigged on the castle. They managed to save the queen, just as Malekith and his forces move on to their next target. Jane Foster than uses Mjolnir to manifest rain to put out the flames of the castle.

War of the Realms

Malekith's war across the realm has continued undeterred with only one realm left targeted by his wrath: Midgard. After his initial attack, he assigned continents to the allies he had made across the realms. In turn, Thor assigned his own allies across the globe to fight on multiple fronts. Screwbeard and the rest of the League of Realms were assigned to Africa, which had been given to Malekith loyalists from Heven. They were joined by a new representative of Midgard: Spider-Man.

Screwbeard and few others didn't like that Spider-Man refused to kill despite being at war, but the last straw was when he allied himself with Fernande, the angel lieutenant who had taken over Lagos, against the rest of the angels. Screwbeard, Ivory, and Ud abandoned Thor's appointed leader, while Ro and Titanya remained. They head for Vatican City to fight Dark Elves but are stopped by the new Kurse. Spidey and the League come to their rescue. Spidey and Fernande are able to distract Kurse long enough for Ro to counterspell the armor and free Warizia, reuniting her with her old team.

With their combined might, they returned to the war until it was won.
