Benedict, obsessed with those artifact of great power, ordered some of his minions to kill the three crime bosses who had obtained them. Once they were on his hands, he realized that a detective called Sydney Taine was investigating the murders. Then he sent his creatures to kill her and her partner Ape Largo in order to conceal his crimes. Unfortunatelly for him, he was killed by one of his own men, and the Three Treasures of Tao were taken back to their right owner.

Simon Benedict was created by Robert Weinberg and Tom Derenick in 2002 and first appeared in Nightside # 1.
