Smoke Eater debuted in Blood Hunt #1, and was created by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz.
Major Story Arcs
Following the Blood Hunt, the Bloodcovern goes into hiding in New York. Bloodstorm One observes newly-sired vampires being cured by the Blood Hunters, and sends Smoke Eater after them alongside Cruel and Unusual. The trio ambush monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone and briefly torture her, before Miles Morales and the rest of the team free her and join the fight. Smoke Eater responds by summoning a legion of civilian vampires to his side, who easily overpower the Blood Hunters until Dagger unleashes a purifying light that forces the Bloodcoven to retreat. Weakened and injured, Dagger is taken by Miles to the hospital, but the Bloodcoven intercept and capture Tandy for her mutate blood.
