History

The seelie Cobweb is a massive fan of the Spider-Men, to the point where her glamour takes cues from Peter Parker's costume. She witnesses her fellow seelie use magic to shrink the Spider-Men, Elementary, and the other heroes in order to take them to Central Park's Seelie Court to stand trial for using elemental magic illegally. She helps the Spider-Men evade capture and sneaks them into the court to try and rescue the heroes.

When the Spider-Men are discovered, Cobweb appeals to the court to release them based on their heroic hearts. Once the court is convinced to free the heroes, Peter thanks Cobweb and gives her his blessing to protect Central Park as the Spectacular Spider-Sprite.

Spider-Sprite and her friends Junie Junebug and Evening Shade are later recruited by Peter and Miles to help find Elementary. They are present when the Coffee Bean building is zapped to another realm.

Origins

Spider-Sprite was created by Greg Weisman and Andres Genolet. Her design is based on Glory Grant's high school play costume in The Spectacular Spider-Man. In the series, she plays Cobweb in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream where in-universe, her and Puck's costumes were inspired by Spider-Man and the Green Goblin, respectively.

Powers and Abilities

As with most seelie, Spider-Sprite uses magic to create glamour to hide her true form. She also uses wings to fly. However, she prefers to websling like her idol by using the web fluid she spits out.
