Origin

Miles Morales was doing a stint in Ryker’s after voluntarily covering for his cousin. Because this was a favor for the Rigoletto family, Wilson Fisk, while he was still a mob enforcer, was imprisoned to get Miles a message of appreciation, as well as informing him that both he and Fisk would be released in two weeks after the crime family got dirt on the D.A. Miles and Fisk became good friends awaiting their release. Miles even protected Fisk from getting shanked in the shower, resulting in a trademark scar across his right eye. After they got out, Miles helped Fisk take over the Rigoletto crime family and start a fancy restaurant as a front and personal haven for themselves.
Creation
The 616 variant of Miles Morales first appeared in Spider-Men II #1 by Brian Michael Bendis and Sarah Pichelli. He is the Miles Morales of the standard Marvel universe, as opposed to the Spider-Man Miles Morales who is originally from the first Ultimate Universe (Earth-1610).
Major Story Arcs
Traveling the Multiverse
Dating was hard for Miles due to the prominent scar on his face. He finally fell in love with a woman named Barbara Sanchez. She inspired him to leave the criminal life behind, which Fisk graciously allowed. He even allowed Miles to continue profiting from what they started. Unfortunately, Barbara died. Fisk revealed to Miles that when his own wife died, he asked every super scientist for a way to bring her back. He found closure in traveling the multiverse. He found versions of Vanessa who were still alive, some of which still found and fell in love with that world’s Wilson Fisk. It was enough just to know a version of her persisted and hoped that idea would help his friend. Unfortunately, it was not enough for Miles. He hired Taskmaster to explore an alternate reality and confirm a version of Barbara existed. This got the attention of the Spider-Men, especially 1610-Miles after Taskmaster was overheard referring to a different Miles Morales. Spider-Miles tried to reveal himself to Miles, but Miles had a singular focus. He walked through the portal to a reborn Earth-1610, where he found Barbara running a restaurant. The two hit it off very quickly.
Ultimatum

Outfitted with gear he stole from The Ultimates and partnered with Earth-1610’s Green Goblin, he returned to Earth-616 hoping to take back over the streets, calling himself Ultimatum. The ever-appreciative Kingpin, now mayor of New York City, gave him permission to take over Brooklyn. He hired The Assessor to clone Spider-Miles and create a designer drug that would turn users into “goblinoids” he could control. He needed these forces to help him take out every Brooklyn villain so he could own the neighborhood. He also took an interest in returning the Earth-1610 refugees to their proper universe, including Spider-Miles, Prowler, and the rest of their family.
The Morales family were more than Miles expected. Prowler’s suit detoxed his body of the drug they used to sedate him, and he broke himself and Spider-Miles out of Assessor’s lab. Meanwhile, Jefferson and Rio beat up the goon squad Miles sent over to them. While the goblinoids came down on Spider-Miles and Prowler, they were joined by their friends: Starling, Bombshell, Miles’ dad, and Captain America. Miles joins them at full giant-size to lead his goblinoids and goon squad in the field.
After Cap and Spidey got the upper hand, Miles took his shrunken gateway and re-enlarged it. He was about to force Spider-Man through, when Prowler got between them. Prowler overloaded his own tech and tackled Miles and Osborn into the gateway, forcing all three of them and the gateway itself to be teleported away.
Space Between Spaces
Miles ended up stuck in between dimensions. He was forced to live a boring isolated existence until Spider-Miles with his clone, Shift, entered his interdimensional space. They had been hopping realities looking for his uncle, Prowler. Miles relished the chance to pound two spiders, but Spider-Man's venom blast shorted out Miles' power cells, rendering his Ultimatum suit useless.
Miles confessed he had been alone since the gateway malfunction, but he did hear gunshots and voices from a particular portal. One of the voices sounded like Prowler's. While Spider-Man and Shift weight jumping in, Ultimatum's suit completes auto-repair. He increases the size and strength of his hands and pushes the two spiders into the portal, remaining in the nowhere he found himself.
