Origin Bomb
Validator was a member of the Omega Flight task force sent to investigate one of the seven origin bombs, which landed in Regina, Saskatchewan. A dome like structure was growing and eventually trapped them inside, and each of the members were attacked one by one until Validator was the last survivor. She tried to send a signal back to base that the dome should be destroyed.
Anything under the dome, including Validator, began to evolve. Validator evolved an ability to manipulate time. This new perception gave her greater understanding of the origin bombs and their place in the universe. Her manipulation of time sped up the evolution process, giving rise to a primitive culture of yellow pigmy beings.
A month later, after exhausting all other attempts to break through the dome, the Canadian government finally asked for help from the Avengers. A group of Avengers head into the dome with help from their resident teleporter, Manifold, along with Validator's father, Robert, an agent of Department H. She gave them a glimpse of how variable the Avengers could have become while whispering to her father that "the machine" was on.
Than she and the dome disappeared leaving the Avengers and her father behind. While they experienced 327 hours, the outside world only experienced 49. Unfortunately, Robert would commit suicide to keep the secret his daughter told him.
Sunspot's New Avengers
Validator accepted an offer to join Sunspot's Avengers, as did all the other surviving Origin Bomb subjects. This new Avengers team had abandoned the old Avengers team when Cap assigned them to hunt down the Illuminati, a secret club within their ranks. The Illuminati had been killing planets from the multiverse that were on a collision course with Earth, causing an incursion which would destroy both universes the planets belonged to. Sunspot believed that it was up to them to remind their old teammates of who they really are, and the best way of doing that was to take control of "the machine" the Origin Bombs created to control reality.
