Voorr, the Sun is a Dire Wraith that somehow developed light manipulation powers. As a result, he was chosen by Eldrac to join the Light Brigade, which was formed to bring an end to the Annihilation Wave and Annihilus himself.

Voorr the Sun is a Dire Wraith of the Universal Inhumans. He was one of six warriors chosen for the Light Brigade. A group of beings predominantly possessing immense light projection/manipulation powers that was meant to sacrifice themselves by going through Eldrac for "a battle they cannot win". Imprisoned by Annihilus in the Negative Zone he was forced to fight in gladiatorial matches to the death. He would then be resurrected and forced to repeat the cycle over and over for the Negative Zone inhabitants enjoyment. The team endured this torture seemingly indefinitely but were evntually led by Johnny Storm in escaping imprisonment, defeating Annihilus, and gaining control of the Annihilus Wave via Cosmic Control Rod.
In addition to his light control powers, Voorr is a Dire Wriath. Dire Wraiths have insectoid physiology and therefore have heightened senses, antennae, a carapace that heightens their vulnerability, and the relative super strength that most (if not all) insects possess.
