Waya was an Atlantean worker that moved to New Atlantis with her husband, Mato, and son, Achak. Waya was more progressive in nature than her husband and supported her sons hobby to invent. This seemed to cause mild conflict between her and Mato, but they were otherwise happy with their life. When Achak brought his new invention, a device that would detect posions in the water, she was happy for him. She was taken aback when Namor arrived and told Achuk that he too was interested in the device. After Namor left, Mato asked for her help with building the house.  
 
When the Aqueos attacked the city, Waya and her family was amoung the casualities. Namor was the one to discover their bodies under rubble. Namor seemed saddened by the death of his loyal followers.
