The criminal Biggie Benson fromed polive officer Willie Lincoln on the charges of accepting a bribe, Shortly thereafter, while serving in Vietnam, Lincoln jumped on a live grenade to save his fellow soldiers. The blast blinded him. Daredevil met Willie while on a tour of the war-torn country, entertaining and boosting the morale of the troops.
When Willie returned home, he enlisted Matt Murdock's help to help clear his name . The tow became friends as Willie struggled to deal with his new impairment. Willie assisted Daredevil against Crime-Wave and his agent, the Torpedo. Later, he was one of the vetereans targeted by Bengal.
