Hino-Chan and Yurei's parents were killed in a house fire when the sisters were toddlers. As a teenager, Hino-Chan was abducted by Jie Jie and her faction of the Hand. Wolverine, Yukio, Jubilee and her sister Yurei banded together to save her. Yurei single-handedly teleported several members of the Hand to dangerous places such as the tigers' cage in a zoo or an alligator-infested swamp.
