While attempting to mug a women Alpha arrived and after a brief confrontation Andy punched him in the face, cracking his skull. He is then rushed to Pittsburgh University Medical Center, where he was expected to make a recovery. However, for some unknown reason, the mugger mutates into a giant tumorous monster. After absorbing the life-force of many already in the hospital, Zeta sets out to consume the city. Teaming-up with Spider-Man, Alpha arrives and the two manage to defeat Zeta, but fail to completely destroy all his cancerous tissue, allowing Zeta to escape.
