Origin

Myra Sanchez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, a city that straddles the U.S.-Mexico border. Growing up in a close-knit, hardworking Mexican-American family, she learned the values of resilience, determination, and loyalty from an early age. Her father was a decorated Vietnam War veteran who instilled in her a strong sense of duty and love for her country, while her mother, a nurse, taught her compassion and the importance of standing up for those who couldn't protect themselves.

Myra was always a natural athlete, excelling in school sports, particularly track and field. Her speed and agility earned her numerous awards, but she was more interested in testing her limits than collecting trophies. After high school, she felt a deep desire to serve her country, following in her father’s footsteps. At 18, she enlisted in the U.S. Army.

During her three tours in the Army, Myra quickly distinguished herself as a skilled marksman, earning the Expert Marksmanship Badge. She was also introduced to the Army Combatives Program, a system of hand-to-hand combat training that drew her in immediately.

In addition to her combat skills, Myra’s time in the Army exposed her to situations where adaptability and quick thinking were essential. She became fascinated with escape and evasion tactics, particularly after a close call during a mission in Afghanistan, where she and her team were ambushed. Trapped behind enemy lines, Myra used her resourcefulness to navigate the hostile terrain, evade capture, and lead her team to safety. This experience ignited a passion in her for the art of escape and evasion. She sought out further training in these skills, learning from veteran escape artists and survival experts.

After completing her service, Myra returned to Texas but found that civilian life lacked the purpose she had found in the military. She decided to channel her skills and experiences into a career in law enforcement, where she could continue to protect and serve her country. She considered being a cop, but decided to apply to both the FBI and CIA, both a natural fits given her military background, discipline, and skill set. The FBI got back to her first.

While at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Myra’s reputation as a top-tier candidate quickly grew. She excelled in firearms training, Krav Maga, a martial art focused on real-world hand to hand fighting scenarios, and was recognized for her problem-solving abilities in high-pressure situations. Her unique background and her fluency in Spanish made her an asset in investigations involving Mexican drug cartels and border-related crimes as well as her knowledge of money laundering, which allows her to track the flow of illegal funds, helping to dismantle criminal networks at the street level by identifying and intercepting illicit financial activities, and also helps her expose complex financial schemes in white-collar crimes, leading to the prosecution of those involved in both organized crime and corporate corruption.

After graduating from Quantico, Myra was assigned to the Chicago Field Office, a city with a diverse population and a complex web of criminal activity. The move from Texas to Chicago was a significant change, but Myra embraced the challenge. She was determined to make an impact in a city notorious for its organized crime, gang violence, and white collar corruption.

In Chicago, Myra’s skills as an escape artist became particularly valuable. She began working undercover operations, often in dangerous situations where the ability to escape and evade detection was critical. Her combat training, sharp shooting, and street smarts made her one of the most effective agents in the field. Myra’s dedication to her work quickly earned her the respect of her peers and superiors, and she became known for her relentless pursuit of justice.

Myra Sanchez’s journey from the streets of Laredo to the frontlines of the FBI’s battle against crime in Chicago is a testament to her resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment to justice. Her skills as an escape artist, honed through years of training and real-world experience, are just one facet of her complex character. As a skilled marksman, a trained combatant, and a seasoned investigator, Myra continues to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, driven by the values instilled in her from childhood and the experiences that have shaped her into the woman she is today.
