Through Nan, Akin was introduced to Patrika and Katelyn Wrein during the early days of the Seed Eaters, the being group shrouded in mystery. As Akin spent more time with the Seed Eaters, he became a favorite among the group. Nan and Katelyn often relied on him for more than just caretaking using him for their carnal needs, and Akin's charm continued to make him popular within the group. However, as Katelyn fell in love with another man, Josh Kneelly, her attention towards Akin waned, and he found himself more engaged with Nan. As more women joined the collective, Akin struggled to keep up with their insatiable demands, unaware of their true nature as succubi.
Eventually, the odd occurrences around the Seed Eaters piqued Akin's curiosity, and he began to question his role in the group. It was then that Nan, sensing his unease, took him aside and playing down the supernatural angle, explained to Akin that she and the others weren't like average women, they had deeper desires, that needed to be met and that sex energized them and made them very happy. They meant no harm and valued him as part of their group. She reassured him that despite their nature, they were the same people he knew and promised they would never put him in danger.
She emphasized that his presence was a blessing and they truly appreciated him, in a way that was gentle and reassuring, focusing on their need for his unique presence. To sweeten the deal, Nan offered Akin a substantial raise, allowing him to aid his parents and family members back in Mexico financially. Grateful for the opportunity to help his loved ones, Akin decided to stay, embracing his role as caretaker for the Seed Eaters on the flipside the ladies labor to keep supernatural events out of his sight, though sometimes he does see things, but they create plausible excuses for those events later. He generally believes the women are escorts, but knows something else is going on.
Story Arc
In "Darc! Issue #1," Akin is seen greeting Nan as she enters to introduce Josh to the Seed Eaters. There is playful banter as she flirts with him, eluding to being open to relations later if he waits up for her.
